We are proud of our Yorkshire heritage and love discovering local hidden gems which can give inspiration as well as, just simply, pleasure.

Taitlands Country House is tucked away in the sleepy village of Stainforth, in the Yorkshire Dales. It is a stunning Grade II Listed Building that sits, unassumingly, back from road.

Beyond its beautiful architecture and facade is a story of painstaking restoration. It was a derelict YHA property when the current owners Emma and Martin bought it several years ago. A labour of love ensued, as they sympathetically restored the property to reveal its former glory.

Take a look inside…

We love the stunning sweeping staircase and the magnificent tiled hallway (Image credit: Barnaby Aldrick).

A beautifully framed staircase with plenty of natural light creates a lovely landing area. Classic furnishings add colour and make this the perfect place to pause (Image credit: www.taitlands.co.uk).

Simple elegance: In contrast to the grandeur, the simplicity of this window emphasises the view beyond, making it a kitchen window we’d love to look out of (Image Credit: www.taitlands.co.uk).
