I’ve loved our UK holiday this year. I really have. Stunning Yorkshire coastline, beach huts and rock pools. But as August bank holiday looms and the nights start to draw in (yes, that’s right, they really are) I’m still holding out for some Summer sun.

So, if you’re in need of a little tropical brightness, here are my favourite picks to help you hang onto that holiday vibe and introduce a little tropical cool into your home, without looking as though you’re hosting an ’80’s Club Tropicana party.

Work the botanical look

Indulge yourself in a holiday moment whilst working the very-much-here-to-stay botanical trend. It works with inky walls, or light, airy spaces: style up a jungalow or keep it as a subtle touch. It’s up to you but whatever you do, it’ll brighten up your space.

Or keep it a little moody with this gorgeous fern and palmleaf print. Just a subtle hint of those holiday vibes is sometimes enough.

But if you prefer a little colour, style up a shelf with some fabulous cactus vases. I just can’t get enough of these. Vibrant colour, texture and pattern all in one.

Flamingo fun

Sometimes life just shouts out for a flamingo. I’ve just bought a 1m high flamingo called Florence for my bedroom, but I appreciate that isn’t everyone’s cup of tea.

But this flamingo cushion provides a pop of colour which may be enough to satisfy your holiday blues. It’s bright, it’s fun, it’s geometric. What’s not to love.

Or, if like me you’re drawn to inky, quirky hues then this is an absolute must to adorn your walls. Not your typical pink flamingo but that’s why I love it. A regal, eccentric twist on the current kitschy trend for flamingos. It’s guaranteed to make you smile.

Perfect Pineapples

Nothing says holiday more than a pineapple! But sometimes you just want something a little more glam than yellow and green. Dark walls and metallics are a classic combination. Here you can get your holiday fix and indulge your dark side.

But if you prefer not to commit, try this candle holder. Who knew tropical could be so sophisticated.

Just for fun…

But if it’s just a bit of fun you want this holiday then look no further than these cute parrot salt & pepper shakers. There’s a toucan version too, just to make sure your dinner table never looks boring again.

Go on, bring a little sunshine into your home and introduce some tropical cool. SaveSave
